Last week Dermalogica stockists, from all over New Zealand, attended Dermalogica’s Event of the Year. Inspired by their experiences at the 2015 Congress held in Las Vegas last month, the Dermalogica NZ team didn’t want anyone to miss out and decided to bring a touch of Vegas to NZ by creating a ‘mini congress’ for all of their stockists.

Held in both Wellington and Auckland, in true Vegas style, everything was big and over the top. Guests were treated to mocktails, canapés and even got the chance to take photos in front of a wall to wall Vegas backdrop to get a true feeling of being at congress. Even the infamous Vegas sign made an appearance.

To begin with, Marketing Manager Angie, and Managing Director Natasha took attendees through the stand out speakers at congress and each of their the key take alway points that can help us be more successful in business and in everyday life. They spoke of Stuart Knight, a professional speaker and author from Canada, and his presentation on the art of powerful conversations. He stressed that in our industry we have ample opportunities to have more powerful conversations with our clients and this tactic may be the very reason that they continue to come back to us over our competition.

Emma Hobson, Head of Education for Australia, NZ and Asia, was another key speaker they referenced in regards to her presentation on customer service. She emphasised the importance of customer service in our industry, revealing that just a 10% increase in customer service will result in a 30% lift in business. She explained that even the smallest of gestures or even just listening more deeply to what your client is saying can improve our customer service immensely.

The second half of the event was led by Caroline Parker, Head of Education and Leanne Winsor, Sales Manager, who unveiled the exciting new Dermalogica products that will be launching in the upcoming months; Overnight Retinol Repair (available now), Clear Start Skin Soothing Hydrating Lotion (available now), Hydrablur Primer (launching November), Charcoal Rescue Masque (launching March 16) and New Professional Additives (lauching October). These new additions join Dermalogica’s extensive retail and professional treatment skin care offerings.

All attendees took home a goodie bag that included sneak previews of some of the new products and lots of other treats, making them some of the first in New Zealand to gets their hands on them. Thanks to everyone who made it to our events, as always we loved catching up with you all and look forward to seeing you again soon!
