Last week Natalie Plain, the founder and Brow Guru behind Billion Dollar Brows (BDB), travelled over from California to enlighten New Zealand beauty media and experts on the latest brow trends and launch three exciting new BDB products.

BDB held two events on Thursday and Friday where guests were, in true American style, treated to delectable donuts, smores hershey’s cookies and chocolate milk. Even Mickey Mouse made an appearance – with perfectly groomed eyebrows of course. Natalie’s energy and passion for all things brows was infectious, she was certainly enjoyable to watch and learn from. She demonstrated ‘frisky fronts’, her technique to create a fuller and thicker brow, and showed how to use the new Mad About Brows palette to take the brow from day to night with an ombre brow technique.

The first event was a media launch for key beauty and lifestyle journalists and bloggers, which was held in the New York-style loft space at OFF Wax Brow Bar in New Market. Natalie reflected on how BDB began and touched on future plans for the brand. BDBs exciting new products were unveiled; the new Brow Boost: Primer and Conditioner (launching in NZ 1st October - watch this space for more info); Mad About Brows Palette and Glitter Brows (available to order now). These new additions join BDB’s extensive brow cosmetics line, and offer both precision and a touch of glamour. All attendees took home a media kit that included each of the new products and media materials, making them the first in New Zealand (and in the world for Brow Boost: Primer & Conditioner) to gets their hands on them.

The second event was a brow masterclass workshop held at The Make-Up School in Ponsonby exclusively for industry experts. Natalie walked attendees through how BDB began, and the motivation behind driving the brand forward. Natalie drew on her personal experience from many years of running the famous BDB Brow Bar in Beverley Hills and shared insights on how to use brow services to grow sales within a business. She also demonstrated some of the stand-out BDB products such as the patented Brow Buddy Tool and Universal Brow Pencil, and explained how these can be used both within a salon and as part of a clients at home brow regime.

Natalie was very impressed with Kiwi’s brows, saying that in her three day stay she saw very few brows that required an ‘intervention’, suggesting New Zealand had the best brows of anywhere she had visited! She was equally impressed with the enthusiasm and focus on eyebrows as a cornerstone of the everyday beauty routine.
